Weaning Breastfeeding Support in West Sussex
If you are looking for weaning breastfeeding support in West Sussex, my sessions are designed to meet you wherever you are in this next chapter of your feeding journey, whether you are preparing to introduce solid foods alongside breastfeeding, beginning to reduce feeds, or navigating the emotional process of bringing your breastfeeding journey to a close. During our time together we work through the practical side of this transition, including how to approach introducing solids gradually and confidently, understanding the changes you may notice in your milk supply, and preparing yourself and your baby for the shifts ahead. We also make space for the feelings that so often accompany weaning, including anxiety, guilt, grief and the complex emotions that can arise when something so deeply bonding begins to change or end. Sessions take place in the comfort of your own home across West Sussex either in person or online, and your partner is warmly welcome, so that you both feel heard, informed and supported with every step of this transition.

Weaning Support Sessions in West Sussex — What to Expect
The Mindful Weaning Package
In Person or Online- 1.5 hour home visit or online session
- Telephone and text support for 3 weeks after the first session
The Mindful Weaning Package offers dedicated, unhurried support as you navigate one of the most significant transitions in your feeding journey, with the flexibility of a home visit or online session to suit your circumstances. Together we explore the practicalities of introducing solid foods alongside breastfeeding, including how to approach this gradually and confidently, what changes you might notice in your milk supply, and how to respond to shifts in how often your baby wants to feed. We also hold space for the emotional experience of this transition, because introducing another form of nourishment alongside breastmilk can bring up feelings that are unexpected and deserving of acknowledgement. Following your session you have three weeks of telephone and text support, so that as weaning unfolds day by day you have a knowledgeable and caring point of contact to turn to with questions, concerns or simply for reassurance that you are doing beautifully.

Frequently Asked Questions
I am returning to work but want to keep breastfeeding, can you support with this?
Yes! Going back to work doesn't mean your breastfeeding journey needs to end. It is a big change for mother and child physically, emotionally and logistically. I can hold you through the whole process from planning to when you've returned to work using practical tools, mindfulness techniques, encouraging self compassion and more!
When should I seek support for weaning?
You can seek breastfeeding support at any stage but I highly recommend having support in place at least a few weeks prior to introducing solids or from when you wish to start reducing breastfeeding or weaning from breastfeeding to give you and your family time to prepare physically and emotionally for this transition.
I haven’t practiced mindfulness before. What happens in a mindful breastfeeding session?
Mindful breastfeeding support is different from other breastfeeding support because it is a 360 holistic approach to feeding. Sessions include guided meditation or guided relaxations, use of essential oils, affirmation writing, breathing techniques and exploring the mind/body connection of breastfeeding. It is about supporting you to relax and feel grounded whatever stage of your feeding journey.
Can I book a one off session?
Yes. One off sessions can be really useful for transitions such as introducing solids or weaning from breastfeeding or to troubleshoot breastfeeding problems as/when they arise. Please do get in touch to book a session.
Can my partner be included in sessions?
Absolutely! In fact I highly encourage this. Breastfeeding education and support is essential for both parents as feeding is a team effort. The more informed both partners are, the more empowered they feel and this supports a successful feeding journey.
