Mindful Breastfeeding Support for Every Mother’s Journey

Breastfeeding can feel deeply instinctive and unexpectedly overwhelming at the same time.

Whether you’re pregnant and preparing to feed your baby or navigating challenges after birth and beyond, you deserve calm, non-judgemental support that meets you where you are.

Breastfeeding Support in West Sussex

My approach blends practical breastfeeding guidance with mindfulness-based support, recognising that feeding a baby isn’t just physical it’s emotional too. From latch difficulties and feeding pain to anxiety, self-doubt or previous feeding experiences, there is space here for the full picture.

Whether breastfeeding feels straightforward, complex, joyful, heavy (or all of these at the same time). You don’t have to figure it out alone. Support isn’t a sign something is wrong or a failure, it is a necessity to enable you and your baby to learn the skills required for a successful, pain-free feeding journey.

How I can support you

Preparing to breastfeed

Preparing to breastfeed is about so much more than technique. I offer gentle, personalised support to help you feel emotionally and physically confident before your baby arrives, using mindfulness tools and body awareness so you have a foundation of calm prior to starting your feeding journey.

Support once baby is here

The early days with a new baby can feel both beautiful and overwhelming. I help you navigate the emotional and physical reality of breastfeeding your baby, blending practical and emotional guidance to help you find your rhythm. Whether you’re working through a tricky latch, managing discomfort, or simply needing someone to talk things through with, I’m here to help you feel steady, supported, and more at ease in your feeding relationship.

Weaning – Introducing Solids

Moving into weaning doesn’t mean your breastfeeding journey has to end. I support you to introduce solid foods alongside breastfeeding in a way that feels manageable and gentle, looking at how feeding frequency may shift, how to protect your milk supply, and how to feel confident through every stage of this transition.

Returning to work whilst breastfeeding

Returning to work whilst breastfeeding is a significant transition, and it is completely normal to have questions and worries about how it will work. I offer dedicated  support to help you feel informed and more prepared, covering everything from your legal rights and employer responsibilities, introducing a bottle to planning your pumping schedule and protecting your milk supply. Together we also explore the emotional side of being away from your baby, so you can approach this new chapter feeling confident, connected, and ready.

Weaning – Reducing Breastfeeding

Choosing to reduce or stop breastfeeding can bring up a complex mix of emotions, whatever the reason behind it. I offer compassionate support to help you navigate this transition at your own pace, drawing on mindfulness to help you feel grounded and informed as your feeding relationship evolves. Together we look at managing changes in milk supply, supporting yourself and your baby through the shift, and honouring the feelings that come with it.

Weaning – Ending Breastfeeding

Whether you have breastfed for one week or four years, the end of your feeding journey deserves to be met with warmth and care. I offer nurturing support to help you navigate this final transition, using  mindfulness techniques to create space for whatever feelings arise as you move through it. Together we look at the practical side of reducing feeds alongside the emotional experience of letting go, so that however your journey ends, you feel truly held and at peace.

Breastfeeding Reflections

Your breastfeeding story matters. Whether your journey was recent or years ago, these sessions offer a safe space to reflect on your experience and process any grief, loss, or unresolved feelings that remain. We gently explore what your journey meant to you, acknowledging that breastfeeding grief and trauma are more common than many people realise, and that no matter why/how your feeding relationship ended, the love and effort at the heart of it was always enough, Mama.

So, What Is Mindful Breastfeeding?

Being Present

Mindful breastfeeding invites you to slow down and truly notice what’s happening in the moment. Your baby’s cues, your own body, the rhythm between you. That presence is where connection lives.

Managing Stress and Anxiety

How you feel matters just as much as what you do. Stress and anxiety can genuinely affect your milk and your experience of feeding, which is why supporting your nervous system is at the heart of what I do, not an afterthought.

Relaxation and Bonding

Through guided relaxation, breathing techniques and visualisation, we create the conditions for calm. And from calm comes connection, with your baby and with yourself.

Trusting Yourself

You know your baby better than anyone. Mindful breastfeeding gently brings you back to that knowing, helping you make decisions from a place of confidence rather than doubt or fear.

The Whole Picture

Feeding your baby isn’t just a physical act. It’s emotional, mental, and for many mothers, deeply spiritual. Mindful breastfeeding holds all of that, not just the latch.

“Adele is a very special kind of person. A giver in the true sense. She lightens up the room and gives her depth of knowledge and love freely, it is a wonderful thing. Adele really knows how to help me tap into my spiritual being – thank you!”

“Adele worked during our session to easily address all the issues and talk through the options I had. She quickly helped baby get a much better latch by making some small tweaks, enabling much less painful feeding almost immediately.”

“From the very beginning and throughout our session Adele made me feel very at ease and comfortable, along with offering expert support and guidance. I felt in safe hands. It was such a positive experience and has helped my breastfeeding journey so much.”

“I would highly recommend Adele to anyone looking for support during their breastfeeding journey. Her calm approach put me and my baby at ease, I felt listened to, and with her expert guidance has enabled me to continue breast feeding my son – pain free! I feel so lucky to have had Adele’s help, and would recommend to any mama.”

“Since meeting with Adele I feel better equipped to deal with the emotional challenges of breastfeeding and through this I think I am more likely to meet my goal of breastfeeding until I choose to stop, rather than feeling like I have to stop like last time. I also feel confident that Adele is the right person to support me with my feeding journey when baby arrives, and it is making a huge difference to my anxiety knowing I have this wonderfully skilled woman in my corner!”

“I cannot thank Adele enough for our work together, it has really changed my perspective on breastfeeding again. I wanted to try again but really felt quite frightened as I found it so challenging before, but with Adele’s support I know I am strong enough and have the tools I need to give me the best chances of success.”

“I had a bit of a tricky start to my breastfeeding journey due to my baby being poorly in her first few days of life. Adele was very helpful in guiding me through my concerns and made me feel heard and supported. Adele is full of knowledge and had some new ideas for me to try.”

“Adele has a beautiful, non-judgemental way of offering support around breastfeeding. What I admire most is her ability to meet each woman where she is, with compassion, practical knowledge and intuition. She understands that breastfeeding isn’t just about feeding; it’s about trust, bonding, nurture and emotional support. “

“Feeling empowered after attending my first circle with Adele, something totally out of my comfort zone. Truly inspiring and totally refreshing to be comforted with views that you thought may not be acceptable or ‘normal’ with other women going through breastfeeding journeys.”

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I seek breastfeeding support?

You can seek breastfeeding support at any stage. During pregnancy, in the early days after birth, months into feeding, when weaning onto solids or weaning from breastfeeding. Support can help with latch issues, pain, low milk supply, confidence, or emotional overwhelm. Accessing breastfeeding support during pregnancy is highly recommended for an informed, empowered and confident breastfeeding journey.

I haven’t practiced mindfulness before. What happens in a mindful breastfeeding session?

Mindful breastfeeding support is different from other breastfeeding support because it is a 360 holistic approach to feeding. Sessions include guided meditation or guided relaxations, use of essential oils, affirmation writing, breathing techniques and exploring the mind/body connection of breastfeeding. It is about supporting you to relax and feel grounded whatever stage of your feeding journey.

Is breastfeeding support only for when something goes wrong?

No. Many mothers seek breastfeeding support to feel prepared, reassured and emotionally supported whilst they are pregnant not just to seek support if problems arise once the baby (or babies) are born. Antenatal preparation and mindful guidance can actually prevent difficulties before they arise.

Can breastfeeding support help with anxiety or emotional overwhelm?

Yes. Feeding challenges often affect emotional wellbeing. Mindful breastfeeding support acknowledges the emotional load of feeding and offers space to feel heard, supported and less alone alongside the practical elements of support. It focuses on the mind/body connection and how this balance is key to a successful and enjoyable feeding journey. Mindful breastfeeding utilises guided meditation, relaxation, breathing techniques and affirmations all of which support with anxiety and/or overwhelm.

Can I book a one off session?

Yes. I offer support from pregnancy to the end of feeding journeys and everything inbetween. One off sessions can be really useful for transitions such as introducing solids or weaning from breastfeeding or to troubleshoot breastfeeding problems as/when they arise. Please get in touch to book a session.

Can my partner be included in sessions?

Absolutely! In fact I highly encourage this especially in antenatal sessions. Breastfeeding education and support is essential for both parents as feeding is a team effort. The more informed both partners are, the more empowered they feel and this supports a successful feeding journey.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. I understand that investing in breastfeeding support is a real consideration, particularly at a time when so much else is being prepared for. If you would like to spread the cost of a package, please do mention this when we speak on our connection call and we can put a simple arrangement in place between us. Payment can be made in installments by bank transfer or direct debit, and the details will always be agreed with you before anything is confirmed.

Do you offer gift vouchers?

I do and I can’t think of a better baby shower gift or gift to new parents! To purchase a gift voucher please pop me an email and we can go from there.
